I've got a countdown on my desktop at work. I often think I am just counting my life or days away. At times though it seems as though the survival of each day, especially Wednesdays is a feat in itself.
Its been about 5 years since my last year off.
In that year I did some amazing things.
- Became a Grandfather, although I try not to use that word to frequently as I don't feel anywhere near old enough to think I am one.
- Went fishing and crabbing in the middle of the week when there were no queues at the boat ramp.
- Walked some amazing tracks in New Zealand
- Walked the Overland Track with Baden.
I had thought that I would be giving up teaching, or at least moving on. But some advice from friends suggested that I wait.
A new boss, maybe some fresh and better changes, maybe some improvements.
I haven't listened to their advice since.
So back to the question.
How many days left?
It depends on how you calculate it.
Are they asking Work Days, Does that include days with or without students, is Wednesday afternoon included?
if you are halfway through a day when they ask, do you count that?
Does it include Weekends?
All I know is that on Friday 09 I will be handing in my Keys, Laptop and IPad.
This could either be the start to a wicked year off or the start to some major changes....
Who knows.
I was looking through some images of my Milford Track Walk.
If I only do one thing next year as fantastic as this. I will be happy.
Norway Here I come!
